Josh Howle

The Josh Howle Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Josh Howle Memorial Scholarship was started to honor an amazing student, friend, son, and brother whose life was lost too soon.

Josh had a bright smile and a light sense of humor. Anyone who met Josh was drawn to his thoughtfulness, open mind and his work ethic. Even at his young age, he had already demonstrated a talent for veterinary medicine, specifically cattle reproduction.

Through this scholarship, Josh’s giving spirit and dreams of becoming a veterinarian will live on.

The scholarship fund is available through the University of Georgia Arch Foundation. This nonprofit organization accepts donations in order to support special projects such as the Josh Howle Memorial Scholarship.

A total of $25,000 must initially be raised in order for Josh’s scholarship to become an official endowment, after which the scholarship will be awarded each year to a deserving student.

Like Josh, the recipient of this scholarship would be a South Carolina resident accepted into the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine program with an interest in cattle reproduction.

The Class of 1988 Scholarship Fund

The DVM Class of 1988 is soliciting donations to create a named scholarship endowment for deserving DVM students. Click the doggy bank to donate to this fund!

Atlanta Steeplechase

The College is a beneficiary of the Atlanta Steeplechase. Proceeds from the event will go toward building a much-needed new hospital for animals at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Visit our Steeplechase page for more information!

The Atlanta Steeplechase, referred to as "The Best Lawn Party in Georgia," is the region’s premier spring social event. Held annually at Kingston Downs race course along the banks of the beautiful Etowah River, it combines the best in cosmopolitan lifestyle, Southern hospitality and family entertainment with the exhilarating Sport of Kings.

Trot for the Cure

The annual Rafter's Trot for Canine Cancer was held January 10, 2010. The Trot raises thousands of dollars each year for canine cancer research. To find out more about the Trot and cancer in companion animals, visit the CVM oncology Web site.
